                    Internship Descriptions              
All Adult Day Services Interns will be required to:
  Attend AHRC's OSHA training
  Have medical clearance
  Be fingerprinted
  Have state clearance

Internship: UNDERGRADUATE INTERNSHIPS
Interns Will: Work with groups and individuals as they take part in daily program activities and including trips in the community; Help individuals improve their ability to interact with others; Help individuals accomplish designated tasks; Help individuals achieve specified educational and behavioral goals
 
Internship: SOCIAL WORK INTERNS
Interns Will: Work with groups and individuals on attaining specified goals; Take part in identifying and addressing educational and behavioral needs; Helping individuals acquire or strengthen the skills necessary for self regulation and emotional stability; Assist individuals in the development of appropriate socialization skills; May interact with families and other programs; Maintain case notes
 
Internship: PSYCHOLOGY INTERNS
Interns Will: Conduct adaptive functioning and intelligence testing; Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings; Participate in functional assessments of behavior and the development of behavior plans; Provide individual counseling; Facilitate groups focused on cognitive, behavioral goals such as anger management and socialization; Maintain concise and well written case notes; Complete assessments and reports in a timely fashion
Internship: SPEECH THERAPY INTERNS
Interns will: Work with individuals and groups in order to achieve identified goals; Work with members of the interdisciplinary team to maximize the gains made during therapy; Maintain session notes; May assist in the assessment of individuals who may need speech therapy; May take part in training sessions that center on the development and enhancement of speech and language
 
Internship: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY INTERNS
Interns will: Work with individuals and groups in order to achieve identified goals; Work members of the interdisciplinary team to maximize the gains made during therapy; Maintain concise and well written session notes; May assist in the assessment of individuals who may need occupational therapy; May take part in training sessions that center on the enhancement of fine motor skills
Internship: PHYSICAL THERAPY INTERNS
Interns will: Work with individuals and groups in order to achieve identified goals; Work with members of the interdisciplinary team to maximize the gains made during therapy; Maintain concise and well written session notes; May assist in the assessment of individuals who may need physical therapy; May take part in training sessions that center on the enhancement of gross motor skills
 
Internship: NURSING INTERNS
Interns will: Implement OSHA policies; Monitor infection control procedures in order to prevent the spread of communicable diseases; Administer tuberculoses screening tests; Provide emergency first aid treatment and referrals; Administer medication in accord with OMRDD regulations; Assure that medical orders and prescriptions are current and precise; Provide exact documentation
