University Internships

Internship opportunities are available for college students seeking course credit, and for people who are preparing for graduate school.

AHRC New York City offers a number of exciting internship opportunities for people in undergraduate and graduate programs.  These opportunities can help to prepare people who are on a career path in the Human Services field.

Additionally, AHRC NYC can accommodate interns who are interested in all fields of Human Services, although selections may depend on our ability to provide an intern with proper oversight by staff.

Examples of Available Internships include:

  • Social Work
  • Psychology
  • Special Education
  • Drama Therapy
  • Rehabilitation Counseling
  • Speech Therapy (CCCY)

The goal of our Internship Program is to attract talented, dedicated professionals to the field by providing educationally-sound placements so that students are introduced to the challenges faced by people with developmental disabilities, guidance and supervision from professionals who are certified to provide field instruction.

AHRC NYC offers interns the opportunity to work with people of all ages, who have varying degrees of developmental delays and disabilities.  Whether providing services to preschool children, adolescents, adults, or senior citizens, interns will be working alongside AHRC NYC staff who are knowledgeable about the best practices used in the field.
