Getting from one place to another is essential for a productive and independent life.

We have developed a comprehensive, award-winning Independent Travel Instruction program which is available to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are supported through AHRC NYC’s Day Services programs.

Independent Travel Instruction includes basic safety skills and problem-solving while navigating the complex web of New York City public transportation.  An array of technology, including GPS and smartphone applications are provided to support independent travel.
