With support from his Residential Habilitation Counselor, Luis Rodriguez is using technology to connect with his community and to learn more about his interests.

The nature of community habilitation is to teach people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities skills in the community. These skills support people in living productive and fulfilling lives. AHRC New York City’s community habilitation services include hands-on assistance with activities of daily living, building social skills to promote the development of relationships within the community, support and training for independent travel, and support of the choices and preferences of the person receiving services.
