Columbia News Service: Hochul’s Grant Funding Boosts Vocational Training for New Yorkers with Disabilities

As reported by columbianewsservice.com, in September more than $13 million in grants were awarded by the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to seven non-profit providers to fund vocational training for New Yorkers with developmental disabilities. Included among the awardees was AHRC NYC, which is using their grant money to start a new janitorial and custodial training program, which will take place in all five New York City boroughs.

These training sessions would help train people… to broaden their skill sets and allow them to seek jobs across a range of industries such as food and beverage, hospitality and retail.
