AHRC New York City has a long-standing tradition of supporting people with disabilities as they prepare for employment. We provide a variety of programs across New York City that harness each person’s existing talents and skills and teach new skills to empower them to be successful in the workplace.

DYCD Programs

Advance & Earn

Further your career through our employment training programs, funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, (DYCD) Workforce Connect. Training Opportunities currently include Advance & Earn.


The Partnership for Inclusive Internships

The Partnership for Inclusive Internships

The Partnership for Inclusive Internships Program works with the New York State Office of Adult Career and Continuing Education Service – Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) and New York State Commission for the Blind (NYSCB) to provide internships, or community work experiences, for people with disabilities.


Project SEARCH

The Project SEARCH Transition-to-Work Program is a one-year employment preparation program that combines classroom instruction and career exploration through on-site internships. Total workplace immersion at a host employer facilitates classroom instruction, career exploration, and relevant job skills training through strategically designed internships, with a focus on individualized job development.


TechXpert

TechXpert

Gain proficiency in today’s most widely used office computer applications through our 12-week TechXpert program (based in Staten Island) that teaches vital computer skills to individuals with a documented disability. This program includes instruction on basic and advanced skills in a variety of widely used applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and more. Receive individualized job development and job placement services.


School to Work Program

School to Work Program

In collaboration with the New York City Department of Education, AHRC NYC helps individuals in special education classes to smoothly transition from school into AHRC NYC employment programs through our School to Work Program.


Daily Job Readiness

Daily Job Readiness

Through Daily Job Readiness, AHRC NYC specializes in preparing individuals for employment by ensuring that the necessary clinical and support linkages are established and maintained.


Employment Training Program

Employment Training Program

Our inclusive Employment Training Program allows people with disabilities to seek and maintain long-term employment in the community through an internship that matches their skills and interests.


Pathway to Employment

Pathway to Employment

Through Pathway to Employment, we assist in creating career plans that match the skills and interests of each person, providing work experiences that advance each person’s strengths and skills through an individualized career plan that will lead to gainful employment.
