Programs Serving Children Three to Five
Early Learning Centers
AHRC Learning Centers are built upon the belief that children with developmental delays have the same needs as all children; and that parents and families are the most important people in the lives of their children.
We Provide:
- Evaluations
- Special Education Classes For Preschoolers
- Special Education Itinerant Teacher Services (Seit)
- Related Services (Speech, Physical, Occupational Therapies, Nursing And Psychological Services) as appropriate
For Preschoolers (Ages 3 – 5) the Following are Available:
- Special Classes: Classes are small. Bilingual staff are available. Related services are provided as recommended by a child’s Committee on Preschool Education (CPSE). Summer sessions are provided when appropriate as recommended by a child’s CPSE
- Integrated Classes: Integrated classes provide students with disabilities with an opportunity to learn alongside their typically developing peers
If A Child Needs Fewer Services, We Offer:
- Special Education Itinerant Services (Seit): Special education itinerate teacher services (SEIT) and / or related services are provided in a child care center or Head Start program for a specified number of hours each week for children with delays ages 3-5

Awarded the Gold Certificate of Excellence by the Administration of Children and Family Services / U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Specialized Inclusionary Head Start Programs
- Education in an inclusion setting along with typically developing peers
- For children 3-5 years of age
- Bilingual services available
Esther Ashkenas (Central Park) Early Learning Center
Specializing in Services to Children with Developmental Delays Including Autism and Those Who Are Medically Fragile, also Offering Inclusionary Classes
Received the Early Childhood Program Award by the New York State Education Department Office of School Improvement and Community Services New York City
- Preschool for children with developmental delays and children who are medically fragile and non-ambulatory ages 3-5
- Special and inclusionary classes with typically developing children in need of child care
- Special classes for children 3-5 years of age with autism
- Bilingual services available
Francis of Paola Early Learning Center
Specializing in Services to Children with Developmental Delays Including Autism and Those Who Are Medically Fragile, also Offering Inclusionary Classes
- Preschool for children with developmental delays and children who are medically fragile and non-ambulatory ages 3–5
- Special and inclusionary classes with typically developing children in need of child care

Howard H. Haber Early Learning Center
Awarded the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation by the NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation
