ASN: Tenants Celebrate Two Years of Independent Living in New Residential Model for AHRC New York City

New Residential Model

The Spring 2021 edition of Autism Spectrum News (ASN) features a story about the residents of Parkside Terrace, an affordable housing residence in the Bronx that provides a home for people with disabilities, created through a partnership between AHRC New York City, the state of New York, and a developer.  The residents share their thoughts about life in their new residence and coping with the pandemic.

This is precisely why we as a field need to raise expectations of the people we support,” said Marco Damiani, CEO, of AHRC NYC. “Only then will society erase the stigma surrounding people with disabilities and begin to see their abilities.”
