Fox 5 Sports Xtra aired a video featuring New York Mets 1986 World Series champion, Bobby Ojeda and his tour of AHRC New York City programs, to see how the annual Thurman Munson Awards gala event benefits people with intellectual and developmental disabilities each year.

The 46th Annual Thurman Munson Awards, presented by AHRC NYC Foundation, is coming up on March 12th at Chelsea Piers. This year’s outstanding honorees are two-time Paralympic gold medalist, swimmer Gia Pergolini, captain of the New York Sirens and Olympic gold medalist, Micah Zandihart, and New York Mets 1986 World Series champion, Bobby Ojeda. The Munson Awards honor the best in sports excellence on the fields of play and for their community service off the field.
