As reported by silive.com, AHRC NYC’s Advance & Earn program provides people between the ages of 16 and 24 years old who may need industry credentials, work readiness training or even a GED, with the opportunity to explore career and educational goals while creating a plan to achieve them.
“We have a big gap in people with disabilities being represented in the workforce,” said Michele Shapiro, a director in AHRC’s Employment and Business unit. “That’s one of our major goals, for people to be included, to gain independence, and to continue to build their self-confidence.”
