On Saturday, May 13th, AHRC New York City held a job fair at Lehman College in partnership with the school and New York City Council members from the Bronx. Approximately 100 interested job seekers braved the wretched weather to learn more about AHRC NYC’s career opportunities and to apply for employment.

Representatives from nearly every department at AHRC NYC attended the fair, including people from Adult Day Services, Organizational and Employee Development, Employment and Business Services, Educational Services, Home Care Services, the Referral and Information Center, Residential Services, Camping and Recreation, and Family and Clinical Services. The event was promoted beforehand in a variety of venues, including social media and an ad in the New York Daily News.

Council Member, Annabel Palma and her staff were given a tour of the fair by Seth Krakauer, Employee Development Manager. Representatives from the offices of Council Members, Andrew Cohen and Ritchie Torres also attended.

Nearly 100 applicants braved the wind & rain to speak with our program department managers,” Seth said. “Many interviews were set up at the fair and for the future. In that regard, we met expectations of finding qualified Bronx residents to fill the many vacancies we have. In the next few weeks, we will be coordinating with our Queens New York City Council Members to do a similar fair in that borough.”
