Students, staff, and families from Brooklyn Blue Feather Elementary School and AHRC Middle High School had the opportunity to visit Citi Field for two exciting Mets games. BBF students attended the game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday, May 18th, while MHS students saw the Amazins take on the rival Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, June 1st.

At BBF’s game, the Mets hosted a number of schools from across the Tri-State region today in recognition of #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth in partnership with #SameHere Schools, an anti-bullying organization. As many as 80 students, faculty members, and family members attended the June 1st game with MHS. Both schools were good luck charms for the team from Queens—the Mets beat the Rays 3-2 and defeated the Phillies 4-2.

We wanted to thank you for your work in organizing and facilitating today’s Citifield trip,” said John and Leslie Wong-Blackford, parents of BBF student Charlotte.  “It was a really wonderful experience for the children and families. We appreciate having the chance to participate in a fun event like this. I remember another event that you managed some time ago that we were able to attend-the Wings for Autism at JFK airport.  We appreciated meeting with the TSA and airport personnel and even to this day use the tips we learned to help make a flight more comfortable for our special needs daughter.”

Catherine Leary said “Thanks for having this field trip! It was so much fun. I also really enjoyed getting to meet and talk to other families. Sunjata had fun too. Although he was a bit confused about missing school.  This was his first baseball game ever. I’m glad we were able to participate.”

Thank you all for such a fun time and for inviting us along. It was definitely a nice treat,” said Kelly Chan. “We all had a great time, especially Ryan who went to his first Major League Baseball game of his favorite team and they won. We appreciate the amazing team at AHRC MHS. Thank you again.”

Marcy Lisboa said “Thank you so much for another amazing event. My daughter Kaysee had such a terrific time,” adding that the seats were great and the company was even better.
