Disability Rights Activist Willie Mae Goodman at Community Block Party Celebrates People with Developmental Disabilities Living Independently in New York State

AHRC NYC CEO Marco Damiani and Board Member Germaine Laviscount Scott were among over 150 people who attended a block party planned by ADAPT Community Services to celebrate 50 years of advocacy since Geraldo Rivera’s expose on Willowbrook in 1972. The block party took place on the block where Margaret, the daughter of the passionate parent advocate and disability rights activist Willie Mae Goodman, lives. The party also celebrated Ms. Goodman’s 91st Birthday!
